Promotion Terms for Model Plane Zone (MPZ)

These terms apply when you buy a promotion for a listing or a store on Model Plane Zone (MPZ). They add to our Seller Terms, which also apply. "We" and "MPZ" mean Model Plane Zone, the trade name of Julius Lawrence Matthew Mason (details on our Legal Notice page). "You" means the seller who buys the promotion.

1. What you can buy

  • Bump (one-off). Moves one listing back to the top of the Newest results, as if it had just been listed. It shows a "Promoted" label for as long as a new listing would show the "New" label, and moves down again as newer listings come in. It does nothing else.
  • Spotlight (7 days). Gives one listing a place near the top of search and category results in the Most Relevant sort, with a "Promoted" label. Only on the first page (up to 6 promoted places among the first 24 results), and only when the listing matches what the buyer searched or filtered for. The listing also appears in the Highlighted tab on the homepage, after Homepage features.
  • Store boost (30 days). Places your store at the top of the Stores directory with a "Promoted" label. It does not promote individual listings.
  • Homepage feature (30 days). Places one listing among the promoted cards at the top of the Highlighted tab on the homepage, ahead of Spotlights and Visual highlights, and gives it the same search placement as a Spotlight.
  • Visual highlight (7 days). Gives one listing card a coloured frame and a "Promoted" label wherever it appears, and a promoted place in Most Relevant results and the Highlighted tab, after Spotlights and Homepage features.

When more promotions of the same kind are running than there are places, they take turns so each gets similar exposure. A promotion improves where your listing or store is shown. It does not guarantee views or a sale. Section 14 of the Seller Terms explains how listings are ranked.

2. Price and payment

The current price of each promotion is shown on the promotion page and again before you pay, and it includes VAT. The price you see when you pay is the price you pay. We may change prices at any time; a change only applies to promotions bought after it, never to one you have already bought. You pay by card or another method offered at Stripe checkout. You cannot pay with money from your sales.

3. Your promotion starts when you pay

A promotion starts as soon as your payment succeeds. By paying, you ask us to start it straight away.

4. Cancelling and refunds

  • Private sellers. You may cancel a promotion within 14 days after buying it, by emailing us. If it is still running, we stop it and refund the days not yet used. Example: you cancel a 7-day Spotlight after 2 days and get back 5/7 of the price you paid. Once a promotion has fully run, it can no longer be cancelled. A Bump is complete the moment you buy it, so it cannot be cancelled.
  • Business sellers. Promotions cannot be cancelled and are not refunded, except in the cases below.

For all sellers:

  • If a promotion cannot start after you paid (for example because the same promotion is already running on that listing), we refund you in full.
  • If we remove the listing or close the store while a promotion is running and you did nothing wrong, we refund the days not yet used.
  • If the item sells or you end the listing yourself while a promotion is running, the promotion ends and is not refunded.
  • If we remove the listing or close the store because you broke our rules, the promotion ends and is not refunded.

Refunds go back to the card or payment method you used, never to your MPZ account or your sales balance.

5. Rules

Do not use promotions to push listings that break the Listing Rules. A promoted listing is moderated like any other.
